MODERN GENDER POLICY AS A TOOL FOR REALIZING THE PRINCIPLES OF SOCIAL JUSTICE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of gender equality issues in Ukraine. It is noted that gender policy, as a tool for realizing the principles of social justice, has a direct impact on the development of democracy, economy and society as a whole. It is indicated that despite the adoption of many concepts, strategies and plans, there is often a gap between declared gender equality principles and their actual implementation.It is emphasized that gender equality means that citizens of any gender can freely choose a career, lifestyle and use their opportunities without any discrimination. Some areas of public life are indicated in which gender equality has a significant positive impact. The author emphasizes that the expansion of women's participation in law enforcement and peacekeeping not only helps prevent escalation of conflicts and violence, but is also a key to transparency of the power bloc. This is especially felt in the National Police of Ukraine.Some areas of development of environmental safety standards, digital transformation and demographic changes that have a gender aspect are revealed. The author outlines the directions and measures of implementation of legislative changes aimed at overcoming structural inequality between women and men in all spheres of public life.In the author's view, the development and widespread implementation of gender equality principles in our country should be based on the development of systemic and complex approaches, which includes improving the legislative framework, developing new institutional mechanisms and strengthening integration approaches on gender issues in all areas of public policy implementation.The article states that in modern conditions it is equally important to consolidate the need to take measures to gender equality not only by state but also by local executive bodies. The author draws attention to the fact that it is necessary to improve the coordination and interaction of entities that ensure the implementation of measures in the field of prevention and combating domestic violence.In the final part of the article, the author proposes a number of organizational and legal measures in order to reduce the number of cases of domestic violence. It is emphasized that the introduction of gender-sensitive mechanisms and strengthening of institutional capacity in the field of gender equality will contribute to the formation of an justice society, in which the rights of every person will be properly secured and protected.
